I found PGB through Groupon and finally decided to try it with a friend who had already signed up. Like trying anything new I was a little anxious about my first class. I wasn’t sure what to expect, if I could physically do it or if I would even like it. But literally seconds after walking in, all of my worries were out the door! I was welcomed with nothing but smiles, by Brenda and the other members. Everyone was so happy and positive and encouraging. The energy in our little studio is through the rough. It’s like my 3rd little family. I look forward to coming to my tier1 class every time. It’s a great stress reliever, awesome workout ( I always leave covered in sweat) and gives you such a sense of accomplishment and confidence. Not to mention the number of new friendships I’ve made in just two short months. I would tell anyone looking to get into a workout routine who isn’t sure about where to start or how to come out and join us! They will be so happy they did.
Pink Gloves Boxing is exactly the workout I’ve been looking for! Brenda brings a lot of energy and enthusiasm to the class and her friendly personality creates a comfortable atmosphere to workout in. Each workout is challenging and fun, most importantly pushing me to work harder each class.
Words cannot begin to describe how much Pink Gloves Boxing means to me. After almost a year and a half of living in Austin I still didn’t feel like I fit in but I knew I needed to put myself out there try something new. Like most of the girls in my Tier group, I discovered PGB on Groupon and decided to give it a try. I had always wanted to try boxing and I really liked the idea that it was all women. After my first class I was hooked. I knew that this was the place I was meant to be! Brenda and Morgan were very welcoming and really took the time to go over the moves to make sure we understood. I am also thankful for PGB because I got the opportunity to meet so many wonderful and empowered women. I am so happy that because of this class I can call these women my friends. It’s great to be able to have people to try new classes and activities with while working towards a common goal. I am so excited to see how far I can go in the program! I highly recommend giving PGB a try, it could really change your life
Pink Gloves Boxing has changed my life. I’ve tried seemingly endless types of fitness and classes, and never found something I loved and would stick to. I’ve been boxing now for about 3 months, and can’t imagine ever stopping. I miss it on the days I don’t have class and look forward to classes every time. I would box every day if I could.
To put this in perspective, I was more than 200 pounds overweight. Morbidly obese. I wasn’t in the worst shape in the world, but I wasn’t anything resembling fit. In the last six months of changing my eating habits and three months of boxing I’ve lost about 70 lbs., and gained strength and muscles where I didn’t even know they existed. I can exercise for 3 hours at a stretch without killing myself. I have come to truly love working out, and getting fit. I still have a long way to go, but I know I’m on the road to get there, and am confident I will lose the rest of the weight while getting fit, strong, and in shape.
But beyond that, Pink Gloves has given me an emotional centeredness. The classes are fun, encouraging, inspiring, and challenging. I love the team atmosphere, with a group of women all striving to better themselves, and helping each other along the way. I love the goal-natured structure, with tiers to strive for, and challenges to overcome. I love always having something new to learn, finding out new ways to challenge myself and grow. In class we laugh, groan, complain, and work together to reach our individual goals. I want to keep coming not just for myself, but for my classmates as well.
For me boxing is not about fighting or anger. It’s about exerting myself in a way that challenges me to my go beyond my limits. It’s me against my limitations, and every day I overcome them and find ways to keep moving forward toward my goals. I’ve become addicted to feeling good, to getting fit. To growing muscles! Pink Gloves has been the structure that helped me get there, and I will be forever grateful. And forever boxing!
If I can do it, ANYONE can do it. And if I love it, I know others will too. It’s the most fun and exciting way to get in shape that I’ve ever encountered. And I just want to share it with the world, and help others find the joy I’ve found in boxing. I hope to see you here at Pink Gloves!
Pink Gloves Boxing changed my life! After being dormant for way too long PGB Austin and the awesome group of women, really kicked my butt into shape. They have given me a passion for working out I didn’t know I could have! Pink Gloves is a growing community of women who are supportive, hilarious and welcoming- not to mention some of my very best friends! Brenda brings such a great energy to each class and makes Pink Gloves Boxing a safe and fun space to work out. I am stronger, healthier, and happier version of myself. I have gained confidence in myself and in my body all while smiling and laughing through (almost*) each step of the way.
*Except during burpees, no one smiles during burpees!*
Pink Gloves Boxing, Brenda, and Jonathan have sparked the desire for me to get back into shape at the age of 39. It is hardcore yet fun and motivational! Not only am I getting my body strong and healthy but my spirit is becoming empowered within each session! Whole body training for any age, body size, etc. Truly the best experience I’ve ever had working out!
